We are happy to share some news: Megan Zynda, Certified Nurse-Midwife, has joined the MyOBGYN team. If you are looking for a midwife in Las Vegas, or you want a provider who explains your options and answers every question, we would love for you to meet her.
Megan grew up in Parker, Arizona, a small town on the Colorado River. She earned a Bachelor of Science in Biology from Northland College in Wisconsin and a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Brookline College in Arizona. She completed her master’s degree in nursing with a specialization in midwifery at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas. She is certified by the American Midwifery Certification Board.
Megan’s path to midwifery is personal. She began her nursing career outside of obstetrics. After the loss of her twins, the compassion and support she received from her nurses and providers inspired her to become an obstetrical nurse. Working alongside midwives and OB/GYNs in that role, she found that she wanted to care for women and families, and she went on to train as a midwife.
Megan wants every patient to feel heard and informed. She explains each option in plain terms, encourages questions, and makes care decisions together with you. “I want my patients to feel comfortable asking questions, expressing their preferences, and advocating for themselves,” Megan says. Outside the office, she stays active. She was a college athlete and still plays indoor and sand volleyball, competes in obstacle course races, and gets back to the Colorado River whenever she can.
Certified Nurse-Midwives are advanced practice providers with graduate-level training in pregnancy, birth, and women’s health. Megan provides prenatal visits throughout pregnancy, supports patients through labor and birth, and cares for patients after delivery. She also provides routine gynecologic care, including annual exams and reproductive health visits.
Megan works alongside our OB/GYN physicians at MyOBGYN. If your pregnancy or gynecologic care ever calls for a physician, our physicians are part of the same practice and already have your records and history. You can also have pregnancy and pelvic ultrasounds through MyUltrasound and schedule one-on-one lactation support with us.
Whether you are newly pregnant, planning a pregnancy, or due for your annual exam, Megan is now scheduling appointments. MyOBGYN has two offices: Durango (6850 N Durango Drive, Suite 401) and Pinto (2011 Pinto Ln, Suite 103).
